this topic come out from my sis. she just got her first job and she has this idealism about workplace and how the world supposed to be. this morning, she woke up and said, "i don't need to prove myself. rite?" my other sister, who was drying her hair beside her, laughed and said, "no, you don't." my sister sighed, "to you, i don't."
it makes me think, we don't need to prove our self to anyone, yes i am agree.
But, there are some situation where we have to proved our self, to gain trust. like when we just got a new boss, or new job, we need to prove to our boss or maybe to our self, that we can do the job. we might be not perfect, we are new and still have a lot to learn, but we can handle it. we can handle our job. when i was trying to make friends with those barista, i tried hard to proved to them that i wanted to be friends with them, not because of my crush. some of them believe it, some of them doubt my motives. they are not wrong, if i were them, i will be suspicious too.
i think at some point we are always have to prove ourselves.
it doesn't mean you have to prove yourself to anyone and every time, but situation where you have to prove yourself are always there. you only have to choose which one is matter to you.
for me, it is important to prove myself to my boss, that i can do my work, that he can trust me that i will get my job done. it's important for me to prove myself to those barista that i really wanted to be friends with them, not because of him or anything else. for me, it's not important to prove myself to my family that i can be a great person, but it is important to prove to myself that i can be someone great.
you just have to choose your priority.
which one is important to you.
which will matter to you, or make change in your life if you didn't do it.
you're the one who have to choose it, wisely.
